Automated Experimental Platform

Challenge

Long-running biological experiments require stable environmental control, continuous observation, and trustworthy metadata. Manual operation does not scale and makes failures difficult to diagnose.

System

I designed and implemented a modular platform that combines custom hardware, device-control software, continuous video acquisition, timestamp-aligned telemetry, structured metadata, and long-run experiment management.

Engineering capabilities

  • Continuous, timestamped video acquisition for long-duration experiments
  • Programmatic illumination and moisture control
  • Synchronized telemetry and metadata logging across devices and recordings
  • Modular hardware interfaces supporting multiple experimental configurations
  • Status monitoring and operational tooling for long-running data collection

The result is a reusable acquisition architecture that produces traceable, ML-ready datasets under controlled and repeatable operating conditions.
